Relationships get more complicated as we spend more time in them, and many people find themselves wondering how to communicate differently in order to get their needs met. How you talk to others has a direct impact on how they feel towards you. This 8 week Relationship 101 Support Group is designed to help you move into conversations in a different way, so you can have healthier conversations. The group meets in-person in Butler PA at Wellness Works Counseling.

Maya Rowe’s Workshop Facilitator Bio

Maya earned her Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Duquesne University. She works with adults and couples navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, identity exploration, LGBTQ+ concerns, and life transitions.

Maya is passionate about helping people build healthier, more connected relationships. Using a strengths-based, person-centered approach, she incorporates Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Nonviolent Communication (NVC) to help people communicate more effectively, reduce conflict, and express their needs with confidence.

Maya believes that each person is the expert on their own life. She creates a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where people can feel supported, build on their strengths, and move toward meaningful change.

This is a group for you if you have anxiety and want tools to improve communication. This group is designed for adults who want to ease feelings of anxiety. If you are someone who has experienced a significant amount of trauma or loss, individual counseling is also recommended.

Each Tuesday evening, we’ll meet in person at Wellness Works Counseling in Butler PA for 90 minutes (6:00–7:30 PM ET) for a blend of education, guided discussion, practical relationship-building tools, and support.

You’ll leave each session with practical ideas you can begin using in everyday life—without it feeling overwhelming. 

No. This is not individual therapy.

This is a structured support group led by  Maya Rowe that combines psychoeducation, practical tools, guided reflection, and supportive discussion in a safe group setting.

Investment for the full 8-week group is $240.

Early registration rate: $220 if registered by September 11, 2026.

Using ideas from Nonviolent Communication (NVC), you'll practice simple skills that can help you create more understanding, trust, and connection.

Most importantly, you'll be part of a group of people who have similar struggles. You'll be able to share experiences, learn from one another, and know that you're not alone.

Our offices are located in a classic Victorian building in the city of Butler, Pennsylvania. Parking is available in our lot off East Penn Street (immediately behind our building) and on the street immediately in front of our building. Additional parking is just a short walk from Main Street.
