When Anxiety
Takes Over, You Don't
Have to Figure It Out Alone

Maybe your mind won’t stop racing. Maybe you’re constantly anticipating what could go wrong. Or perhaps your body feels like it’s stuck in high alert—even when you know you’re technically safe.

Anxiety can affect much more than your thoughts. It can change how you sleep, breathe, eat, concentrate, relate to others, and move through your day.

Does Anxiety Feel Like This?

Maybe you…

And your body may be reacting, too.

Anxiety Isn't "All in Your Head"

Your nervous system is designed to protect you.

When your brain senses danger—whether that danger is physical, emotional, social, or even something you’re anticipating—it can activate your body’s stress response.

Your sympathetic nervous system helps prepare you to respond to a threat. Your heart rate may increase. Your breathing may change. Your muscles may tense. Your attention becomes focused on detecting danger.

This response can be incredibly helpful when you actually need to escape danger.

The problem is that your nervous system doesn’t always distinguish between an immediate physical threat and a thought, memory, uncertainty, or perceived threat.

So your body can react as though something dangerous is happening—even when you’re sitting safely at home.

Anxiety Isn't "All in Your Head"

Your anxiety isn’t proof that you’re weak, broken, or incapable of handling life.

Your nervous system is trying to protect you.

Sometimes it simply becomes too sensitive to perceived danger.

Therapy can help you understand what activates your anxiety, recognize the patterns that keep it going, and learn new ways to respond.

What If Your Anxiety Shows Up Most in Your Relationships?

Maybe you constantly wonder:

  • “Does my partner really love me?”
  • “What if they leave?”
  • “Why can’t I stop overthinking our relationship?”
  • “Why do I need so much reassurance?”
  • “Is this relationship right for me?”
  • “Why do we keep having the same arguments?”

Relationship anxiety can create a cycle of worry, reassurance-seeking, conflict, and disconnection.

If this sounds familiar, you may benefit from Relationship Anxiety 101, our webinar and support group designed to help you understand relationship anxiety and develop healthier patterns.
